Boater Certification Course

​Florida requires all boaters born after January 1, 1988, to complete a state-approved boating education course. There are a few ways to get a boating license in Florida, including: (Test Takes About 15 Minutes)

• Boating Safety Education Identification Card: A lifetime card for frequent boaters

• Temporary boating license or safety certificate: A 90-day card for visitors who plan to rent a boat or PWC.

You can face fines or arrest if you operate a PWC without a Boating Safety Education Identification Card or a Temporary Certificate.
